My name is Elizabeth Hawkins, my father was active-duty Army while I was growing up.  I have lived all over the world.  I have two undergraduate degrees from Tarleton State University (Texas) in English and Theatre.  I have a Master’s degree from Ashland University (Ohio) in Curriculum and Classroom instruction with additional administrative endorsements.  I am all but dissertation with The College of William and Mary (Virginia) in Executive Leadership.  I started teaching in 1996 and have taught in public schools for 6 years.  In 2002 I started working for the Ohio Department of Youth Services where I taught reading for three years before going into school administration.  I am extremely passionate about trauma informed instruction and my administrative philosophy is: “If I feed the staff, the students will grow.”
I have fallen in love with Alaska and feel deeply blessed to have the privilege and opportunity to live in Point Hope.
